About
After completing General Surgical training in South-West Sydney, Dr Smigielski underwent further specialist Colorectal training through the Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia and New Zealand (CSSANZ) in general and advanced Colorectal Surgery. Completing fellowships at the Western Hospital in Melbourne and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney, Dr Smigielski performs surgeries in elective and emergency simple and advanced conditions affecting the colon, rectum and anus and pelvic floor including bowel cancer, IBD, haemorrhoids and fistula management as well as endoscopy.

Dr Smigielski is passionate about Surgical Education having completed a Master of Philosophy in laparoscopic surgical education as well as peer reviewed publications and is involved in teaching at all levels from medical students to advanced surgical trainees, and has been a member of multiple General Surgeons Australia (GSA) working parties.

In addition, Dr Smigielski has an interest in Public Health and has undertaken a Master degree in Public Health and has been involved at many hospital and area level committees dedicated to improving health outcomes of patients.
